a happy 4th

Ruby enjoys every other float....

enjoying the wet. while handling the 10th snow cone of the day.

our very own beauty queen and her private float.

Grace bedecked in red white and blue.

"God Bless America"

the crowd is the parade.

the fire works before the fireworks.

the Fourth of July is a big deal in these here parts. as most neighborhoods do now-a-days, ours has an annual parade and picnic. since we moved into the neighborhood, we have learned what a serious and sacred event this has become. this year was the 17th annual neighborhood parade. equipped with our very own firefighter escort, a perfectly timed air force fly by (right as the pledge of allegiance ended) hot dogs, lots of Jello salad, and a skip through the water spray thanks to those dedicated fire fighters.

we went all out ourselves this year and did our best to dazzle the crowd with our wagon "float" topped with a beauty queen and her attendant. we topped the day with a BBQ with family and watching several firework show from atop the new roof on our house. glad to celebrate such significant holiday with so much fun. grateful to know this nation was founded and fought for by God loving men who knew when the time was right. God Bless America, truly. Happy Fourth of July to all!

Yeah, I was telling Julio how much fun the 4th is in Utah. He never really celebrated it in LA.

Looks like a great day. You went all out! Your girls look like they are having a blast.
Our area is nuts over the 4th too and I love it. I can't wait to share it with my boys as soon as they are old enough to appreciate it.

such a fantastic tradition in your neighborhood. I'd love to be a part of something like that again!
